Honestly this bike has not only met but exceeded my expectations. I will warn the reader that the KTM 1290 SAR is a bike that requires respect and discipline to ride it. This is not the bike for a new rider, I recommend the tried-and-true KLR 650. But if you want to experience the thrill of riding again then then the KTM is the machine for you.
The 1190 Adv R has a range of about 300 miles per tank. The seat height is an issue for me and I'm 6'1. When you put on riding boots and pants and have to get your leg over around gear, it is a challenge. I suspect the real height change will come with sag under load such as panniers and gear.
